SET YOUR GOALS



Hello everyone,

Setting goals are very important and it will be the motivating factor in our internship journey. During our first week of placement, we will be able to figure out the workplace environment and the opportunities that are being provided for us. This will be helpful for us to determine the goals to accomplish by the end of our internship. In this blog, I would like to highlight some of the objectives that I wish to achieve success during this placement.

As mentioned in my previous blog, I got the placement at Allandale Recreation center and during my orientation, it was overwhelming to see the wide range of fitness programs that are being provided by the center to the community members. I planned my schedule and decided to participate in the following fitness programs:

  • Athletic training class
  • On the ball 
  • Stretch out
  • Body 360
  • General fitness class
  • Yoga class
  • Aqua fitness

After my first week at the recreation center, I was able to set my extreme goals to perform during this learning process.

  1. First and foremost is to improve my fitness level so that it will improve my confidence to showcase myself as a sound fitness instructor to the clients.
  2. Would like to learn the name of all the fitness equipment's at the center, how to operate them and the muscles involved. 
  3. To participate and experience the feeling of exercising in water and learn the importance and benefits of aqua fitness.
  4. To learn how to improve my cueing skill with 32 count phrasing and learn how to motivate all the participants with great fun and music during group exercises.
  5. To participate and experience the circuit training program and learn how to design them to involve all sections of the body.
